For a getaway heavy on outdoor activities, a popular destination is Outer Banks, North Carolina. The memorial teaches visitors about the Pearl Harbor attack and its role in the U.S. fighting in WWII.

If the scorching weather isn’t a deterrent, many people visit Tuscon, Arizona, every summer. Warm all year long, it is sweltering during the summer months, but still has a lot to offer. Tucson boasts various attractions, such as the Sonora Desert Museum. Many visitors also make it a point to view the Mount Lemmon Scenic Byway.
